Qi Jun, chairman of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, said at a 100-day press conference on the countdown of BICES 2019 that China's construction machinery market has grown rapidly in the past two years and is expected to increase by about 10 percentage points on the basis of 2018 in 2019.


Qi Jun said that in 2018, sales of major construction machinery products in China increased by 25.5%. In the first quarter of 2019, sales of construction machinery remained good, with sales of major products increasing by 15.2%. According to statistics, in April 2019, 25 excavator manufacturing enterprises included in the statistics increased by 7% year-on-year; 22 loader manufacturing enterprises included in the statistics increased by 6.26% year-on-year. It is estimated that the total sales of major construction machinery products in 2019 will increase by about 10 percentage points on the basis of 2018.


In Qi Jun's view, the achievements of China's construction machinery industry can not be separated from the good overall environment of China's economy. The reduction of VAT tax rates in manufacturing, construction and transportation industries by the Chinese government will bring policy dividends and radiation effects to manufacturing, construction and related industries, which will provide strong support for the stable development of construction machinery industry in 2019 and even in the next few years.


Construction machinery industry is closely related to infrastructure construction. Qi Jun believes that Xiongan New Area will soon enter a large-scale substantive construction stage; in 2019, China's investment in fixed assets in highways, waterways and railways will also increase substantially; China will further promote the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects involving Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the Yangtze River Economic Zone, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and the central and Western regions.


Qi Jun said that the above-mentioned infrastructure construction and livelihood security projects will generate huge demand for more environmentally friendly and efficient engineering machinery and equipment. It is an opportunity for construction machinery manufacturers all over the world, and also a guarantee for the sustained growth of China's construction machinery market in the future.
